A Celebration of Sustainability
Guardians of Water Festival is a unique family festival organized by Dubai which focuses to mainstream water conservation. The festival will take place at Terra – The Sustainability Pavilion in Expo City Dubai and will last for two weekends- August 30-31 and September 6-7- making it an exciting experience combined with the fun of learning. It welcomes interactive installations, creative workshops, and inspiring storytelling, all designed to educate children and families about the criticality of water in our lives.
Interactive Experiences for All Ages
There are a lot of activities under the Guardians of Water festival, which truly enmesh education with enjoyment. Some of popular children’s novelists who will do storytelling based on their water-adventures are Kathy Urban and Beverley Jatwani. For the more hands-on workshops, some activity venues are constructing a falaj irrigation model, looking into water filtration systems, and playing Freshwater Heroes Bingo. And for the naturally artistic, there are craftable coloring activities on marine life and preservation of water. Visitors could also go to Heritage Corner which showcases the UAE’s desalination process and the intricacies of how camels survive desert life.
Heritage Meets Technology
One of the event highlights is the blend of traditional and modern, with guided tours through a replica of the classical Falaj irrigation system. This is then followed by an introduction to the Laboratory of Future Values, showcasing innovative ideas towards sustainable water use. Thus, it connects UAE’s history with the present approach of handling water scarcity, covering the past with the future as relates to both worlds.
Tickets and Why It Matters
Festival tickets are priced at AED 50 for an adult, while free entry is allowed for children under 12-years. Families can get to upgrade to an Attraction Pass for AED 160, which would allow entry to Terra, Alif, and the Vision Pavilions. For an additional AED 35, kids can enjoy a 30-minutes play session at Taqa Island. Besides being a fun-outday, the Guardians of Water Festival comes also with an extremely important message: water is one of the most precious resources, and we protect it for future generations. By making conservation fun and simple, Expo City Dubai inspires families to embrace sustainability while heralding an unforgettable cultural experience.
